Ultima 4 Review – Games Machine Magazine

This is a review of Ultima 4 on the Amiga from Games Machine magazine in Decemeber 1988. It’s very brief and spends as much time on the back story as anything else. The game gets a high score of 86% but is slightly criticised for being too faithful to the original and not really taking advantage of the Amiga hardware.

  1. You’re a person who’s played Origin’s Tangled Tales. Sorry to bother you with a rather odd and obscure question on an unrelated topic. But would you happen to remember the part in the very first quest, I would guess it would be towards the end where a character asks you something along the lines of “Who is the creator of the Door?”. Do you happen to know how to answer that or what you had to do to pass that part? I actually played the game when it was originally released and never got by that and it’s been bugging me for about 20 years now and I can’t find anything about this obscure game anywhere else on the internet.

Much thanks for your time either way and a thousand pardons for the bother.

    • It’s been a few years since I played it and I can’t remember any of the details in all honesty. However, there is a full walkthrough in the Quest For Clues 2 book which is on the downloads page here which should be able to help you out.
